Spiteful Squirrels, Pissed Off Pigeons, Grumpy Gold Fish

Posted June 27, 2006

Beware the wrath of jealous animals. Lowe Roche Toronto’s latest TV campaign for the Toronto Zoo features ordinary animals retaliating over the amount of attention zoo animals receive. The spooky spots each end with www.jealousanimals.com where you’ll find more bitter banter from the over looked ordinary animals.

I Had My First Whack This Week, And I Liked It

I Had My First Whack This Week, And I Liked It

Whack is a sour lime carbonated slushy available only at Mac’s Convenience Stores in Canada. I worked with Bos Toronto to promote the product launch & I finally got around to having a Whack. It was really good. Watch the TV/cinema campaign here and the double entendre filled website here. Caution: if you have a Whack too fast, you get a brain freeze.

“Men Go To Strippers. Women Get Pedicures.”

Director Brian Lee Hughes is in Toronto shooting with Crispin Porter + Bogusky & he brought me Beauty Parlor Wisdom, the follow-up to Taxi Driver Wisdom. The book is filled with entertaining, inspiring and thought provoking quotes from stylists, manicurists, shampooers…you get the idea. Written by Risa Mickenberg, photography by Joanne Dugan, designed by Brian Lee Hughes and it’s cover is glossier than OPI Big Apple Red. Thanks BLH!

Take the Plunge With Nestea

Lowe Roche Toronto has just launched a viral campaign for Nestea, plungeandplay.com. The site highlights the latest Nestea commercial and a game where you “plunge” for bottles of Nestea. Depending on how well you do in the game, different live action scenes come up at the end. That’s the best part, so be sure to play to the end.

Cavorting in Cannes

DDB & Campaign magazine have joined forces to create a fun site full of Cannes updates and events as well as opportunities for shameless self promotion or blackmailing colleagues. The latter refers to the section where you can upload your own pics and add captions. I can see this getting totally out of control, in a good way.

Look Out Brooke Burke

Yesterday I had a little rendezvous with the King. He was in Toronto shooting his latest commercial with The Perlorian Brothers and took a few moments off for a quick cannoodle. And for those of you who don’t know, the King is quite the lady’s man. I’ll refrain from making a Whopper joke.
