Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays. I probably won’t be updating this site until the new year. All the best for 2007, Glossy.

Look Out Fergie - Here's Pamalicious

Enjoy this festive video featuring Chunky Pam. Song written and produced by Geremy Jasper, directed by Lena Bueg & edited by Owen Plotkin. Warning, it will probably make you hungry. Happy Holidays.

Lowe Roche Holiday Buttons

Lowe Roche Holiday Buttons

I received these great holiday buttons from Lowe Roche Toronto with the statement; “Because in this magical time of goodwill and cheer, it’s easy to lose sight of what makes this season truly special: controversy.” Very funny.

Belgium Bans Smoking in Restaurants

Belgium Bans Smoking in Restaurants

As an avid anti-smoker, I’m pleased to hear that smoking is being banned In Belgium, as of January 1st, in all establishments that serve food. Here is an interesting PSA produced to “promote” the ban. It’s a little long, but good none the less. Scooped from Coolz0r where there is an interesting editorial/rant.

Fly Porter

Fly Porter

I flew with Porter today from from Toronto’s Island Airport to Ottawa to spend the day with my parents. It was $69 each way (plus taxes) & a completely enjoyable experience. On top of the convenience, only 1.5 hours from my door to my parent’s door, it’s also so aesthetically pleasing with branding by Winkreative, uniforms by Pink Tartan & new Q400 aircrafts with Swiss leather interiors.

More Un-Churchy from the United Church

The E-Z Answer Squirrel is making its way around the internet & major news stations. Here is the United Church of Canada’s print portion of the campaign. Very nice & “un-churchy” as described by the agency Smith Roberts.

The Ivy Coat Rack

I love this Ivy coat rack inspired by the Frank Lloyd Wright quote; “A doctor can always bury his mistakes. An architect can only advise his client to plant ivy.” I found it on The Ad Feed & I really want one. More info on it here (pssstt…someone please get me one for xmas).

Glossy Xmas Wish List

Glossy Xmas Wish List

Yes, I’m shamelessly dropping hints for Xmas presents on my blog. I used to have a collection of 48 New Order & Joy Division albums. Sadly, they are no longer in my possession (I’m in therapy over their loss). But here is a book, Factory Records: The Complete Graphic Album, that has all of their glorious covers. Someone, please get it for me & put me out of my misery.

Straight 8

Straight 8

The Straight 8 2007 event is now officially open for entries. Straight 8 is a simple principle: one super 8mm cartridge, no editing. I went to a screening of some of the 2006 films here in Toronto last year. My favourites were Blockhead & The Autobahn Poet.

ACLC ADvent

ACLC ADvent

Today I received a “Christmas Card” from ACLC Toronto in the form of an advent calendar. I really enjoyed it so I snapped some shots to share (the glossy paper gave me a really hard time — reflecting light). At the moment, I really wish it included some booze filled chocolates.
