Red Urban Takes Santa Hostage

Red Urban Takes Santa Hostage

Red Urban is sending out personalized videos starring Santa himself. Nice twist is that they have taken Santa hostage, as he’s at gun point, tided up and has a bloody nose. I love my personalized message. I’ll be looking for that cop stripper under the tree and I love that touching is allowed. Thank you to Red Urban, who has a new website. Check it out.

Rooster Bought Me a Rooster

Rooster Bought Me a Rooster

Okay, they didn’t really buy me a rooster but that was just too good of a heading to pass up. Rooster and their sister company Track & Field have purchased three hens in my name for a family in a developing country. In total, they are supplying 63 roosters and 189 hens on behalf of their clients and supporters. Nicely done. Check out the vid here. Now, can I pick out the colours of my hens?

The Holidays Are All About Excess

The Holidays Are All About Excess

RP& has just completed their year end campaign for Acura all about excess with six comedic spots directed by Chelsea Pictures‘ Rick LeMoine and edited by Arcade‘s Paul Martinez. The six spots are Stockings, Gingerbread House (love the line “It’s a 60′s post-modern gingerbread house – although I hesitate to call it a ‘house’.”), Chestnut Roaster, a Montage (love the – “We’ve done the whole cardboard reindeert hing…”), excessive Lights and Gifts. There’s also this 7th spot of an elf taking a wee on the side of the road. The latter is edited by Arcade’s Patrick Griffin. Full credits.

Nice work by Portuguese digital shop Excentric – the story of Christmas told through MMS, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google, Google Maps, Foursquare etc. Scooped from AdFreak.

Wills and Kate Memorial Plates

Okay, I really could care less about the impending royal wedding, but these “unofficial” souvenir plates from KK Outlet are hilarious. Scooped from Creative Review.

The Chemistry of Sympathy

The Chemistry of Sympathy

The Chemistry of Sympathy is the name of director Christopher Riggert’s first photography exhibit. The opening is tomorrow night in Sydney, Australia. Here’s how Riggert describes the work in this show:

These Photographs are simply of life. An observation of small down tempo moments. There’s a stillness or a passive energy in this body of work. It’s almost like we as humans don’t know what to do with ourselves on this planet. We’re lost, just filling time, waiting for our end. I see it everywhere. I think everyone feels this sense of non-direction or isolation – even in the busiest cities, perhaps most of all in cites. The title ‘Chemistry of Sympathy’ refers to a thought that scientifically everything is made of atoms – we are simply a mixture of chemical elements that are all connected to each other. People, places, objects and even the emotions we feel. I guess that’s why the subject matter appears so broad, but each of these photographs shares a feel.

View the exhibit flyer and a selection of works featured in the show here. As a commercial film director, Riggert is represented by Biscuit Filmworks in the USA and by @radical media in Australia.

Holiday Wrap

Holiday Wrap

The latest from my friends at Crush is this spot for MuchMusic’s Holiday Wrap – a show that takes viewers through the events and people that made 2010 a memorable kickoff to the decade. I’ve been seeing it on TV a lot and I really like the art direction and visual effects. I stopped by Crush yesterday to bring them some Xmas cheer, in the form of homemade ginger snaps (glossy bakes), and asked if they had done it. I was happy to hear that they had (it did have Crush written all over it). Nice work guys and thank you for the goodies. I’ve had the yummy caramel corn you gave me for breakfast two days in a row now. Full credits for the spot.

Poodle Loop

Poodle Loop

I love poodles and I love this promotional film for Nokia’s new Loop app – which allows you to make music with any sound, anywhere, anytime. IF I weren’t allergic to all things with fur, I’d have a poodle – a black out & I’d call it Jerome.
