David Bowie’s Space Oddity is a Children’s Book

Posted August 31, 2011

Being lost alone is space is a great story to hear right before you fall asleep, right? I think I need this book. Illustrated by Andrew Kolb (who’s Canadian). Beautiful. Scooped from Wired.

100 Years of East End Style

Posted August 31, 2011

The latest from The Viral Factory is this film featuring 100 years of fashion in 100 minutes for the grand opening of Westfield Stratford City (a shopping centre). Reminds me a bit of this (amazing) Levi’s spot, but with dancing rather than making out, but that’s okay.

Big Swedish Bunny

Posted August 30, 2011

I’m a sucker for bunnies and for Swedes. I love this giant bunny, 13 meters high and created by Florentijn Hofman, that’s been dropped in a central square in Örebro, Sweden.

Genetic Portraits

Posted August 29, 2011

How much do you and members of your family really look alike? Quebec-based graphic designer and photographer Ulric Collette has created Genetic Portraits, where he’s exploring the genetic similarities between different members of the same family. By splitting their faces in half and then melding them together, he creates interesting new people that are sometimes quite normal looking and other times far from it. Scooped from @cachecach on Computerlove.

Happy to Bed

Posted August 26, 2011

This is cool. Happy To Bed is a new campaign for Ikea UK that uses info on your Facebook page to create your perfect bedroom. I thought mine would be full of kittens due to my ongoing kitten video posting joke with my BFF. But no kitten for me (that’s a good thing as I’m allergic).

I Love Storms

Posted August 25, 2011

We had a brilliant lightening storm here in Toronto last night. The sky was lit up for hours. I’m happy to see someone captured it and make a video (the scary music is a little over-the-top).

Sony Shoots in India and Thialand

Posted August 24, 2011

Family Vacation and Take Control are two new visually driven (as one would expect) spots for Sony via 180 LA, directed by Biscuit Filmworks‘ Christopher Riggert and edited by Paul Martinez and Stewart Reeves of Arcade Edit. Family Vacation features the Sony Handycam and was shot on location in Mumbai, Pune, and Nashik, India (so beautiful and vibrant). Take Control is for the Sony Cybershot (I have one & love it) and was shot in Bangkok, Thailand. Full credits.
