Scream Soda

Posted October 28, 2011

Here’s a nice limited edition Halloween redesign for Crush’s Cream Soda. The Canada-only design is only available October 31st and was designed by Toronto-based The Traffik Group.

Um…but the French translation of the name is pretty funny - hallucinant? In English it would be hallucinate. Which is exactly what you want your kids to do when they are walking around on dark street surrounded by people in scary costumes. But in French, it does mean a hallucinated person – like a ghost.

I Like Kisses

Posted October 26, 2011

This appears to be sold out and that makes me sad. I like kissing and teenage kissing was by far the best kissing.

Teenage Kissers is a photography book by Ed Templeton that contains black and white and colour photographs – a couple couple of them have even been painted on by the artist. It was produced in a very limited edition of 1,000 by Seems books.  The book launch was made in conjunction with an exhibition  of Teenage Kissers at the Half Gallery in the Summer of 2011.

Martin Scorsese Tribute Posters

Posted October 25, 2011

Here’s a series of film tribute posters created by my friend Ibraheem Youssef. “I’ve had so many ideas bouncing around in my head, so many films I wanted to work on,” says Youssef. “One director stood out from the rest though, Martin Scorsese. I’m a long time fan of a lot of his work and I felt I should definitely pay tribute to his films.”

So here’s his series based on Scorsese’s Mob Trilogy, starting with Mean Streets in 1973, moving to GoodFellas then finally Casino. The three film posters are being released as 18×24 inch fine art giclee prints in extremely limited editions of 75 ONLY per film. You can order them on his website. See the other two in the series here.

2012 Beetle AR

Posted October 24, 2011

YouTube Preview Image
I’ve always been a VW fan, I’ve owned both a GTI and a Cabriolet (ya, I was “that” girl). I was a fan of the classic Beetle (who isn’t), but I was never that fond of it’s modern reinvention – until now. The 2012 Beetle is lower, sleeker and more modern than ever before. And what better way to celebrate its third coming than with a very modern campaign utilizing augmented reality. Watch the vid for the rundown on the campaign for Volkswagen Canada from Red Urban. If you are a VW fan, like them on Facebook.

Take This Lollipop

Posted October 21, 2011

If you haven’t already done so, check out Take This Lollipop. It’s a haunting, and super fun, live-action interactive experience from Tool director Jason Zada. It connects to your Facebook account and uses your photos, friends list and news feed to make you a part of a creepy tale. I’ve tried it a few times, with different results each time, but my first experience was by far the best as lots of photos of me with members of the opposite sex came up and the photo that came up before he stroked the computer screen was that of my legs poolside – so it looked like he was stroking my legs. Love it. Try it. I just wish you could share your vid after it plays. If you want more info check out this post on Joey Tomatoes.
