Okay, this is some pretty impressive projection mapping. Helps that it is accompanied by killer tunes by Deadmau5.

Hello Little Printer

Posted November 30, 2011

A printer that works with your iPhone (okay, all smart phones but I’m biased). Little Printer  is useful and completely adorable. I want one for my desk. Love.

My Bloody Lad

Posted November 29, 2011

Here’s a visual feast for the eyes via Wizz and directors Dead Walter, who are first year students at the Ecole Nationale des Gobelins. Amazing work with so much detail that I had to view it more than once and the knife to catchup transition made me laugh out loud.

Spontaneous Manns Up

Posted November 29, 2011

Creative post studio Spontaneous has significantly upped its CG game by bringing respected VFX artist Ed Manning on board as CG Supervisor to oversee the increasingly complex CG projects coming through the New York office.

A Harvard grad, Manning has held key executive positions at digital agency R/GA and worked as a VFX supervisor and technical director across a variety of disciplines – from feature films and commercials to software development – with the industry’s most prestigious animation and design shops, including Method Studios and Psyop. Paper Toys: Shin Tanaka

Posted November 25, 2011

I love paper art and am debating trying to create a Christmas tree out of white paper snow flakes. Could get messy. Keep you posted.

Creative Review’s blog features work and an interview with Japanese graffiti Shin Tanaka who sees his paper toy creations as canvases for his art, and regularly encourages fellow artists to collaborate with him by customising blank templates of some of his character designs.

The December issue of  Creative Review will also feature a bound-in 170gsm blank custom Tougui toy template (in association with Arojowiggins Creative Papers) so you can make your own.  The best customised toy will win prizes. More details will follow on the Creative Review website.

I Love Marcel

Posted November 23, 2011

Marcel the Shell with shoes on is back in another short film. Yay! I love him so much. I love the dog bits  - “treats & snoozing”. So funny.

Oh, and he’s got a book out now too. Amazing.

Go Ahead. Mock Me

Posted November 23, 2011

I love my iPhone, but I also love how this spot for Samsung mocks me. Great insight. My favourite part – “I could never use a Samsung. I’m creative.” “Dude, you’re a barista.” Brilliant.

Not sure who agency is, but I hear that Geoff Hounsell over at Arcade Edit (they are a client of mine) cut it. I’m trying to get my hands on full credits. I’ll probably have to wait until after the Americans are finished with their turkey. Keep you posted.

A Good Scream

Posted November 23, 2011

I like a good scary movie and a good scream (just hate turning the lights out and going to bed after).

Here’s screamerific spot for HP via agency twofifteenmccann, directed by Anonymous Content’s Markus Walker and edited by Arcade Edit’s Stewart Reeves.

Acura’s “Season of Reason” campaign returns for the third year featuring superstars Bette Midler and Gordon Ramsay. Developed by Acura’s agency of record, rp&, the sales event campaign emphasizes the value of Acura for affluent but recession-fatigued shoppers. Both spots directed by The Perlorian Brothers and edited by Stewart Reeves at Arcade Edit.
