Girls of Film

The June edition of Packaged Goods is all about gender — focusing solely on the work of up-and-coming, established and provocative female directors.
Girls of Film is on tomorrow night, Wednesday, June 13th, at Toronto’s Bell Lightbox (home of TIFF). I’m going. You should too.
Note from the curator, Rae Ann Fera:
Although many would contend that we’re in an age of gender equality and post-feminism, the still pronounced lack of women at many levels of the film industry tells another story. This installment of Packaged Goods spotlights the work of female commercial and music video directors both established and emergent, and brings together a number of the artists featured — including Aleysa Young, Claire Edmondson, Yael Staav and Kathi Prosser — for a candid, post-screening discussion about their life behind the camera.
