I came across this great Nike Woman website on Computerlove. Not only does the site have great design, but you can also design your own trainers -- I designed the shoe to the left. Tomorrow night Vapor Music is hosting their first annual Independant Music Showcase at Toronto's El Mocambo. Vapor not only does music for TV commercials (they did Dove Evolution), but they also have an artists roster which includes Broken Social Scene. More info on tomorrow night's event here.

This new guerilla campaign for The Truth consists of ice sculptures, in the form of pregnant women, with toy babies in their stomaches. As the sculptures melt, all that remains are the babies on the ground. A placard next to the sculptures reads, "Over 30 children lose their moms to tobacco every day." Toronto's Head Gear Animation have just completed two very clever little spots for Recruit Ireland -- Beep and Creak. Beep is directed by Steve Angel & Creak by Julian Grey. Agency: Chemistry, Dublin. The autograph on the Bella Lugosi picture in Creak is hilarious.

Diesel advertising Montreal changed their name to Sid Lee back in November, but yesterday I went to check out their new website for the first time & I really like it. Well, except for the really annoying music which I immediately turned off. The black & white of the site looks great with the different vibrant images of "Sid Lee". There's also a link to their blog, Sid Lee Collective.

The BK Double Whopper "I'm a Man" commercials has been banned in the UK. Not because of it being unhealthy, as many "unhealthy food" commercials are banned in the UK, but because the sandwich in the commercial is larger than the one in BK restaurants. Lowe Roche Toronto has created Push to Start for the Nokia 6133. The concept is that the phone is so simple to use, with a one hand push to start button, that your right & left hands will have to battle it out in 3 video games to see which one gets to use it. The site is part 2001: A Space Odyssey, part Atari. If you loved Pong & Space Invaders, you'll love this site.

I love this new Dare spot from Zig. It's full of childlike whimsy and reminds me of the work that The Electric Company did for Sesame Street crossed with Dr. Seuse. Makes me want to go & have some cookies & milk (and play with them). Created by Lifelong Friendship Society. Creative: Allan Mah.

Nike has released four types of sneakers which are based on a laser technology and have launched this eye-catching outdoor campaign. The billboard is made from a metal plate and the impression of the shoe and the copy are laser engraved in the plate. Agency is DDB Paris. Scooped from Coolz0r via AdArena. 

First off, I have no interest in sports but I always love Rethink's BC Lion's campaigns. First there was the award winning Cheering Works campaign and then there was Save it for the Game campaign and now there's this. I won't spoil the tagline for you.

I have been waiting months to see this spot. I knew the Three Legged Legs were working on some "secret project" but no one was talking. Finally, here's Samurai for GE's Imagination Theater campaign. These ads appeared on the TTC (Toronto subways & busses) on December 25 as many of us were stuffing our faces. They mimic the cheesy back of the magazine diet pill ad style perfectly. Agency is Smith Roberts, Toronto (the people who brought you the United Church's E-Z Answer Squirrel).

I saw this new Kia ad from Publicis Toronto on air last night & immediately thought it was clever & then a red flag went up. This commercial would be completely inappropriate if the cop was male. I'm wondering if the police force will get upset about the portrayal of the officer in this commercial & have it taken off air.
