| Placebo - Running up that Hill |
| |
Placebo has just released this video for the song "Running Up That Hill" (a Kate Bush song for those of us that remember the 80s clearly). Placebo fans were asked to send in videos of themselves singing the song and editor Ara H. Keshishian put 90 tapes together to create this video. I think it's amazing (Placebo has some cool & creative fans) & blows all the "consumer-generated TV commercial" work out of the water. Executive Producer for the Capitol Music Group is Justin Glorieux.

But, I'm posting it now because it is so beautiful. Directed by Mark Molloy via Soft Citizen & Furlined; agency is Bensimon Byrne, Toronto; creatives are Siobian Dempsey & Drew Paulter; editiorial by Michelle Czukar at Panic and Bob and music by Human. |
Apologies for my site being down for a number of hours yesterday. The server that my site is hosted on was the victim of a denial of service attack - you can see the full definition here. My hosting company explained to me as, "Essentially some asshole or assholes bombarded the server with literally thousands of visits a second - which is the equivalent of trying to squeeze a thousand shoppers through one door at Holt Renfrew - it's gonna cause a bottleneck." (Holt Renfrew is a Canadian retailer).

| Argyle Brothers Animation |
| |
Last summer I got three of my clients together on a project to showcase their talents. Animation master Yoho Yue of Toronto's Crush created this spot for director John Mastromonaco's LA-based production company Argyle Brothers. The only instructions given to Yoho were, "do something cool with wrestlers. End with the Argyle Brothers logo." To finish it off, Jeff Derringer of Hired Goons Music, New York, created some killer beats. This animation went live on the new Argyle Brothers site yesterday. It's also featured in this month's issue of Stash magazine.

| Geico Caveman Action Figure |
| |
On my new site (glossy 2.0 coming soon) I'll be able to file work under different categories. This one would go under "freaky". Furlined received this homemade action figure from a fan of the Geico caveman commercials. First off, what's with the stain on the shorts?! What you can't see, or hear for that matter, is that the base of the "doll" is made up of "record your own message" postcards. Meaning, you press a button & you hear a voice. In this case, the fan actually recorded clips of the caveman talking from the TV commercials. Freaky, but I totally love it.
