| Camp Okutta - An Adventure Camp for Kids |
| |
John St. Toronto has created this great viral film and website Camp Okutta for War Child Canada, a registered charity dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance to war-affected children around the world. The poster portion of this campaign angered some Toronto residents (nothing like controversy to help spread a campaign). The web film is directed by Soft Citizen's Henry Lu & edited by Ross Birchall at Bijou Editorial.

| Grill Hands |
| |
I love Zig's Mr. Sub commercials. Grill Hands started airing this summer in Canada and is still on air now. He could crimp her hair as well as heat her buns (pun intended). I believe this spot, as with the others which are posted here, are all produced by Toronto-based Electric Company.

| So cheesy |
| |
Here's some more new work from DDB Canada, this time via their Vancouver office for the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. "Cheese" was shot at a high frame rate for an extreme slow-motion effect, stretching a few moments of fevered real-time reaction into 25 seconds. Refreshingly creative for a lottery spot (if I see people dancing around in a lotto spot one more time, I'm gonna scream). Produced by Soft Citizen, Toronto.

| Do the salmon dance |
| |
Framestore CFC has just completed this video for The Salmon Dance, a new single by The Chemical Brothers featuring vocals by ex-Pharcyde rapper, Fatlip. With a cast of 320 hand-animated fish friends, the video is the latest collaboration between directing team Dom & Nic and Framestore CFC. The puffer fish & the sea horses are my favourites. Scooped from Stash mag's FEED.

| Mr. Blue |
| |
Director Graydon Sheppard has made this playful video for Catherine Feeny's somber ballad, "Mr. Blue" (scooped from Boards). For more on Graydon Sheppard, check out his personal site here. Hey, does anyone remember a song from the 80s called Mr. Blue? Lyrics went something like this: "I'm Mr. Blue and I'm here to stay with you, no matter what you do and when you are lonely, I'll be lonely too." It's in my head and I need to figure out who sang it. Please help.

| Fido Pin Art |
| |
To celebrate the 175th anniversary of Toronto’s historic Distillery District, Fido (a Canadian wireless provider) and Bos Toronto have launched The Fido Spot. Set within a courtyard in the Distillery District, Fido has donated a giant outdoor projection screen, which is now available to artists, musicians and filmmakers to showcase their work. In addition, Bos Toronto created the Fido Pin Art installation which will be on location in the Distillery District for the next two years for the general public to interact and have fun with (and there was lots of that going on at last night’s launch party). Bos creatives are Ibraheem Youssef and Mwewa Frederick Nduna. See full credits here.

| Kenny & Spenny |
| |
Kenny vs. Spenny is a Canadian TV show about two best friends who compete against each other. Their competitions are ridiculous, immature and totally intense (I've copied that word-for-word off of their website). Last night I bumped into them, in Toronto's Distillery District while I was en route the launch of Fido Spot, and I had to snap a couple of pics because my guy loves their show (and secretly I do too). See the pictures here.
