| Freixenet - The Key to Reserva |
| |
André from Advertising etc. just sent me this great short from JWT Spain for Freixenet. The beginning of the film may have you wondering "who's on first" (Martin Scorsese cracks me up), but keep watching as it's a really amazing tribute to Hitchcock. Thanks André!

| Blockbuster Christmas |
| |
I really love this Blockbuster Christmas spot via DDB Toronto. It's well executed, seamlessly shot and it's a bit of a brain-tease (apparently there are around 35 film references in it, visual and spoken). Anyone know where "you're gonna need a bigger boat" is from? DDB creatives: Shane Ogilvie & Joel Pylypiw. Director: Jeff Labbe of Spy Films. Thanks to Freddy at a/d goodness for posting.

| NBA Jerseys |
| |
In his latest spot, Jerseys, Biscuit's Aaron Ruell recaps the life of Seattle Sonics player Kevin Durant. This spot was shot on steadicam in two parts and The Mill did some work to make it feel like it's one continuous shot. Click here for the full scoop on how it was made. Agency is Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco.

Director/photographer Graydon Sheppard has just launched his latest series of photographs, Are We Having Fun Yet?, on his website. On a side note, Graydon is currently available for commercial representation and you can view his work here. The spooky Scream TV campaign he directed via Zig picked up a couple of media lions in Cannes.

| Nokia lights up London |
| |
To promote the January opening of its flagship London store, Nokia has lit-up Regent Street. The lights are interactive and react to the movement of people walking beneath them, they change formation depending upon the amount of pedestrians in the street and they respond to environmental factors such as wind and sunlight levels. Agency is Wieden+Kennedy and the installation is designed by United Visual Artists. Scooped from CRblog.

| ADCC Awards |
| |
Canada's Art Directors Club ( ADCC) Awards were last Thursday night (I've been busy so am late posting) and all of the winners are posted online here. If you have a moment, please check out the Philip's radio spots (yes radio). These three spots have just the perfect amount of sexual innuendo and who doesn't like that? The winners site is flash, so I can not give you a direct link. Just go to "categories" then to "advertising broadcast radio" & then to "radio campaign" -- it won gold.

This naughty Orangina spot is the latest from Psyop (via Stink and The Mill) for FFL, Paris. "I guess it goes without saying that when you get the opportunity to spray Orangina all over the chest of a sexy bunny girl, you go for it", says Psyop's Todd Mueller. View Naturally Juicy here or a bigger hi-res version here and it's also on YouTube here. Full credits are here.

Here's the latest from Kenny Herzog and Clay Weiner for Bud Light via DDB Chicago. The versatility of the word "dude" is amazing. One thing I really want to know is, what's going on in that alley? Full credits are here. And I heard, not sure if this is true, that there is a UK "Mate" spot.

| For the Dogs |
| |
First off, I don't have a dog. I'm allergic. But numerous friends of mine insist on dressing theirs and if they are going to continue doing it (you know who you are) they might as well put something on them that will bring a smile and maybe even a laugh to other's faces. These Timmie dog jackets will do just that. Agency: DDB, Toronto. Scooped from Freddy at Advertising/Design Goodness.

Here's the latest from Psyop via TwoXFour, Chicago for Navigon, the only GPS device with what they are calling "reality view" and "lifetime traffic". So it'll get you where you are going with pretty pictures of the traffic that is making you late. As someone with no sense of direction and who is often late, I can appreciate that. | Jerry Seinfeld for HP |
| |
This broke last week but I just came across it now. I have to say I prefer Jerry in his AMEX ads, but I like him so I'm posting this anyway. On a side note, I'll watch the same episodes of Seinfeld over and over. All except for the Chinese restaurant one, as I find it too painful in that "it's so awkward it's hard to watch" way. For those who are already pining for next season of Mad Men, why don't you dive head first into the golden years of UK advertising, the 60's, 70's and 80's. Back when men were alcoholics, women never climbed above the title of secretary, and all paychecks for creatives were insanely huge. View full details of of this book here. Scooped from AdLand.
