André from Advertising etc. just sent me this great short from JWT Spain for Freixenet. The beginning of the film may have you wondering "who's on first" (Martin Scorsese cracks me up), but keep watching as it's a really amazing tribute to Hitchcock. Thanks André!
Here are five very theatrical ads for Sony PS3 directed by Biscuit's (via Independent) Noam Murro for TBWALondon. I love the flamboyant characters and bold colours, Beautiful. There is also a "making" of video going around. It's posted on Creativity here, where it'll be free for seven days and then you'll need a subscription to view.
Poland-based Pawel Nolbert, freelance designer and illustrator, has just updated his portfolio site HelloColor! with some great new work including such brands as Nike, McDonald's and Fanta. Scooped from Computerlove.
Mom from The Christmas Tree is back and this time she's on the phone. The Phone Call is an exclusive premiere for the HBO Comedy Festival and stars John Roberts. Written by John Roberts & Clay Weiner; director: Clay Weiner; DP: Drew DeNicola; editor: Jesse Reisner. Clay Weiner was recently signed to Biscuit Filmworks for US representation. Check Clay's recent "Dude" spot for Bud Light. Hilarious.
I really love this Blockbuster Christmas spot via DDB Toronto. It's well executed, seamlessly shot and it's a bit of a brain-tease (apparently there are around 35 film references in it, visual and spoken). Anyone know where "you're gonna need a bigger boat" is from? DDB creatives: Shane Ogilvie & Joel Pylypiw. Director: Jeff Labbe of Spy Films. Thanks to Freddy at a/d goodness for posting.
In his latest spot, Jerseys, Biscuit's Aaron Ruell recaps the life of Seattle Sonics player Kevin Durant. This spot was shot on steadicam in two parts and The Mill did some work to make it feel like it's one continuous shot. Click herefor the full scoop on how it was made. Agency is Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco.
Director/photographer Graydon Sheppard has just launched his latest series of photographs, Are We Having Fun Yet?, on his website. On a side note, Graydon is currently available for commercial representation and you can view his work here. The spooky Scream TV campaign he directed via Zig picked up a couple of media lions in Cannes.
