2013 Marketing Awards

//  05.31.13

Last night was the 2013 Marketing Awards at Toronto’s beautiful event space, The Carlu.

Held annually by Marketing Magazine, this year was the 91st instalment, and is one of Canada’s most coveted and respected industry honour. In 2012, they made some big changes to the show, bringing it to modern times by merging in the Digital Marketing Awards into the show and partnering with the Association of Canadian Advertisers to bring back the prestigious Gold Medal Award.

This year, there were further updates to the program, Marketing added Design categories to the program, and the work was judged by a special jury comprised of some of the best design talent in the country.

As always, the night was perfectly executed by Marketing’s team. The night’s big winners were DDB Canada/Tribal DDB’s “Our Food, Your Questions”, for McDonald’s – it won Best of Show and 4 Golds. Montreal-based LG2 picked up 3 Golds for their Reseau de Transport de la Capitale campaign (hilarious). BBDO also picked up 3 Golds for their ongoing great Skittles work, “Touch the Untouchable”. And I need to call out Grey’s brilliant and wonderful Facebook app for the Missing Children’s Society of Canada. It picked up 2 Golds.
