T.J. Misny joins Greenpoint Pictures

Director T.J. Misny has joined Greenpoint Pictures for commercial film representation. Misny is an accomplished short film director with a flair for the comedic and directing top-notch talent, which has won him much online acclaim.

“We’re thrilled to have a unique talent like T.J. join Greenpoint,” said Jordana Freydberg, Executive Producer of Sales, Greenpoint Pictures. “He elevates the notion of what comedic storytelling can achieve through beautiful, moody cinematography and a keen eye for casting up and coming talent.”

His comedy shorts, including “Broad City: I Heart New York,” featuring Amy Poehler, “Millennial Horror Story,” and “Why Starbucks Spells Your Name Wrong” (above), have accumulated over 25 million views on YouTube. The latter was named one of the 50 funniest moments of 2014 by Huffington Post. His trio of dark comic shorts, “INTIMATE SEMAPHORES,” starring Kate Lyn Sheil (“House of Cards”), Ariane Labed (“Attenberg”) and Jocelin Donahue (“The House of the Devil”), made its American premiere at the opening night of the 2014 Brooklyn Film Festival, where it won best editing, and its international premiere at the 2014 Stockholm Film Festival where it was nominated for iFestival award. Each story in the collection explore the lives of artistic young New Yorkers who find their creative pursuits coming into direct conflict with other aspects of their lives. In 2014 the Tribeca Film Festival honored “I Hate Being Single”, another series directed by Minsy, in their NOW showcase.

Misny often wears many hats, taking on multiple roles in the production of his film projects, including writing, directing, producing and editing. Since joining Greenpoint Pictures Misny has directed campaigns for Method Soap, GE and New York Post and worked with BBDO and Goodby Silverstein & Partners.
