Cam Boyd and Troy McGuinness Join Cummins & Partners Canada

Cummins & Partners Canada is pleased to announce that Troy McGuinness and Cam Boyd have joined the agency as partners and Executive Creative Directors. Well regarded in the industry, and known for their leadership and mentorship, Boyd and McGuinness bring a fine creative pedigree to the agency.

“After an extensive search for the right creative leadership, we all agreed on Cam and Troy because we thought they were the right fit, not just creatively but also because they’re quintessential Cummins & Partners people — they have great experience across a number of different platforms and can bounce easily between them,” said Dave Carey, President and Partner, Cummins & Partners Canada. “They can provide our agency with the kind of direction our creative team and clients need.”

Having been at both multi-national and boutique agencies, Boyd and McGuinness not only bring the structure of ‘big shop’ experience to their roles, but also the ability to reinvent creative. Their immediate focus is to help Cummins & Partners Canada grow its creative department in size and capability.

“We were attracted by Cummins’ focus on independence while still having the strength of a global network,” said McGuinness. “In Australia, Cummins’ is well-established and well-known as the country’s best independent creative agency. We are incredibly excited to be partners as Cummins continues to evolve globally.”

“We love doing the work ourselves. But over the years we’ve come to relish the opportunity to be mentors and coaches to a department and entire agency,” added Boyd. “We believe building a great culture and great creative work go hand in hand, and we’re looking forward to developing both.”

Between the two of them, Boyd and McGuinness have created a portfolio of award-winning work across a number of disciplines and categories at major Canadian agencies like TRAFFIK, MacLaren McCann, Taxi2, Leo Burnett and Publicis. They know how to do big mass campaigns, but also understand how media and non-traditional elements play into campaigns as well, having done a lot of guerrilla, digital and social media work. As budgets continue to become constrained, the duo have a talent for getting clients the best creative bang for their buck. Their first day on the job will be October 28.

The addition of Boyd and McGuinness caps a period of significant early growth for Cummins & Partners Canada. Since opening in March of this year, the agency has grown to 21 full-time staff and boasts a roster of six clients including Zenbanx, 411.ca, Ceridian and Nando’s.
