Jory Edmunds Joins Performance Art as Chief Strategy Officer

The Strategy veteran fills a key leadership role to support the exponential
growth the agency has experienced since its launch last July

Performance Art, Interpublic Group’s (IPG) newly minted data-driven creative agency, announced today that it has appointed Jory Edmunds as Chief Strategy Officer.

In his new role, Edmunds will oversee global strategy for the agency, working alongside the agency’s diversely skilled team of strategists and data scientists, as well as its performance analytics team. Together they will serve the agency’s growing client base across North America and around the world.

“As a unique specialist agency, we require a complex skill set,” said Andrea Cook, CEO of Performance Art. “We were looking for a strategic leader who is incredibly data-driven and tech-savvy, as well as someone with a love for creative and a track record of informing business-driving, award-winning work. When we met Jory, we knew he was the one. He brings the requisite data knowledge and expertise to the role, and more importantly, he’s able to see the picture behind the numbers while simultaneously using data to tell a compelling story. He’s the ideal fit for us as we are in a period of remarkable growth.”

Edmunds joins from Isobar, where he has served as EVP of Strategy since 2019. Prior to Isobar, he spent more than a decade as Head of Brand Strategy at Razorfish and played key roles at Indeed.com, Cramer-Krasselt, and Y&R.

“It’s the perfect Goldilocks story,” says Edmunds. “I came up through creativity earlier in my career, then shifted into the worlds of digital, technology and data. Joining Performance Art feels like I’ve landed at the perfect intersection of the two. Using the wealth of data we have available to unlock people’s needs, behaviors, and pain points can lead to true innovation. At a time when the experience is the brand, I want to ensure every last touchpoint is considered.”

Performance Art has grown rapidly since its launch last July, hiring more than 50 professionals across its Toronto and New York offices. The agency released the Black Elevation Map for its travel client Black & Abroad. On the business front, the agency has grown its relationships with several founding clients including BMW, CIBC, and Kijiji, and has landed major new business assignments with Lyft, Veterans United Bank and Clutch.ca.
