Giants & Gentlemen wants to Frosterize your face on Snapchat with new Mac’s Convenience Stores and Circle K campaign.
Ready for the ultimate brain-freeze?
Creative & strategy agency Giants & Gentlemen have released a zany new multi-media campaign for Mac’s Convenience Stores and Circle K’s Froster beverages – the fun, flavourful, slush-based drinks, which are synonymous with summer in Canada.
The campaign, “You Are What You Froster” – drives to a Snapchat filter that lets you “Frosterize” your face. The first filter is live today, Thursday June 30.
“You Are What you Froster” was brought to life by creating characters for the flavours themselves (like Orange Crush, Sour Grape, Cream Soda, Banana, Cherry Lime and more) and captures the unconventional, young-spirited brand in fun ads targeted at a younger demographic.
The campaign includes two radio spots, in-store ads, t-shirts for store clerks, interior bus posters and paid social posts – all directing attention to two Snapchat Froster Filters.
“Snapchat is not only perfect for a target who are always using social media, but the platform itself is a creative way to bring our Froster flavours to life. After all, you are what you Froster,” said Co-Creative Director Alanna Nathanson.
The Snapchat filters enable users to alter their face digitally to match one of the flavours available, resulting in personalized, sharable content. The first Snapchat Filter gives them wildly moving banana peel hair and bright yellow eyes, complete with salsa music for the hair to groove to. The second filter, while still under wraps, will have some explosive fun involved. I shared my Frosterized-face on Instagram.

Froster fans can look forward to warping and Frosterizing their faces on the first day of Summer break, June 30th. The next filter will release later in the summer on August 1st.
