For a few years now, photographer Dan Bannister has been hosting Portraits for Good at his Toronto studio. For a donation to the Fork York Food Bank you get a professional portrait taken so you look killer on LinkedIn, your website, Twitter or even on Tinder (no judging here).
“I spend a few days in advance of the event setting up and designing distinctive portrait shots that are the same as what I would do for a magazine or advertising shoot,” says Bannister. “So in exchange for a small donation to the food bank, you get what what I hope is a unique and interesting portrait that you wouldn’t normally have.”
Dan’s clients include Prada, Nike, Honda, The Wall Street Journal, AMC, McDonald’s, Telus and of course a bunch of Canada’s top ad agencies – Cossette, Rethink, JWT and DDB, just to name a few.
Posted above is a video from last year’s shoot. This year he’s booking very limited appointments on December 14, 15 and 16. You can book one by emailing studio@danbannister.com.
